Doula Philosophy of Care.

Birth should be an empowering experience, not a traumatizing one. I believe that all women - despite race, culture, or economic background - deserve the right to birth how they feel safest, and supported in their educated decisions. I believe all women should be encouraged to press into their instincts and bridge the gap between mind, body & spirit. Birth is a normal physiological event that has been occurring since the beginning of humankind and should be treated as such. We don’t overthink the process of breathing, so why do we overthink the process of birth? Ultimately I believe ALL decisions should be in the power of the mother, whatever that may be, as it is her body and birth experience. The journey to parenthood is a profound one, and it should be treated with respect and honor as a baby is birthed and a mother is born.
